The City of Republic is a fourth class city under Missouri law with a Mayor-Board of Alderman form of government. The Board consists of a part-time Mayor and Aldermen representing each of the five individual wards. A full-time City Administrator oversees the day-to-day operation of Republic. The City offers all basic services. The Republic Police Department has 21 full-time officers and 5 volunteers with the Auxiliary Unit. The Republic Fire Department has 11 full-time firefighters and 10 volunteers. Republic has a “4” Fire Insurance rating. The City of Republic has a comprehensive plan including zoning and subdivision ordinance with design standards.
